The choice!

For me it´s hardly a matter of choice, for as long as I can remember I have always felt an urge to draw and paint.                   _______________________________________________

The what and why!

As a painter, I try to make you ( you who is receptive ) see the world in a different way. Every time I paint a place, a thing or whatever it is, my purpose is to communicate to you a revealed truth, as I experience it. I am continuously refining my technique and method to reach this goal.  Why? Simply because I like the idea that art is a primitive human celebration of life. I really believe that good art has the power to elevate mankind. Just take away all good books, all good paintings, sculptures, poetry, music… or just take away the big Art of Nature and you can imagine what life would be like!?

Art is always and everywhere the secret confession,                          and at the same time the immortal movement of its time.

Art is contemplation. It is the pleasure of the mind which searches into
nature and which there divines the spirit of which Nature herself is animated.

Auguste Rodin

Art is meant to disturb. Science reassures.
         Georges Braque

The how!

I paint only what inspires me. And when doing so, I don´t copy - I mean I don´t want to produce illustrations.  I do try as honest as possible and as brave as I can to tell the story or the vision that my soul and I agreed about. To me it is a lot about intuition.

I seek a personal visual language to master, and there is only one way to go: practice, practice and practice. It is by trying to copy nature and by studying great art that we learn, search, find, reinvent and progress. Art is a sweet sweaty process and thank god I found out about it.
